AS Project, Multi-Cultural Society Japan: Christina Ung Transcription

(A5) I created a transcription of one of Christina Ung's works, whose style is similar to Utamaro's, yet more modernised, showing the change in the Japanese culture involving the arts. Ung's works are surreal and vibrant which depicts the modern life of Japan.

AS Project, Disorder: The Syrian War Dadaist Piece

''Only the dead have seen the end of war'' Plato
I have based this piece on the Syrian War which is a major political issue in modern society. The bar-codes represent how everyone has their own individual identity and should have their own freedom to speak and to act. They each represent those who have died and how each individual deserves to be recognised as humans in themselves and not just as products of war.

AS Project, Disorder: Identity Painting

Inspired by Elizabeth Jacob's work, I created my own piece which symbolises the lack of identity which many had during the Syrian War. I have combined this painting with layered materials to create a sense of distortion and vulnerability.

AS Project, Disorder: Surrealist Painting Transcription

Surrealism is an art movement which most inspires me. Here is a transcription of one of Vladimir Kush's paintings which I re-created using oil-paints. The subtle tones and the way that the colours blend into one another gives the painting a sense of peace and serenity.

AS Project, Disorder: Graffiti

I recreated a graffiti piece which I presented in my primary photography involving urban life. I blended together many complimentary colours together and used mark marking techniques such as stippling and lines.
